Grading this fall had our machine snag a couple of whoppers and barely give the operator any notice. Usually a big snag will get your attention in a hurry.
Below are a few things that slowed progress momentarily. I’m sure our motor grader operator will want to chime in with some monsters unearthed on the Routes. These are all on 50″ ORV Trails.
Pictures never due things justice, this monster boulder is about 3′ in diameter. Thank goodness we have a front blade for pushing as two men and a boy were not going to move this bugger by hand.This trail-sized stump left quite a divot in the trail that took a couple passes to fill back in. This is in a red pine clear cut area and the grader barely grunted when it was ripped from the ground. Luckily we have mirrors to try and watch for sub-optimal results.Who plants trees in the middle of the trail?!Not a hazard, just view from the operating station, don’t look down!
